Dobrich Municipality signed a grant contract for construction of new heating systems at two municipal buildings - 18/08/2015

On August 18, 2015 the Program operator of the Program BG 04 "Energy efficiency and renewable energy," performed by the Ministry of Energy signed the contracts with beneficiaries the grant scheme BG 04-02-03 "Measures to improve energy efficiency and use of renewable energy in municipal and state buildings and local heating systems". The total amount of contracts signed under the program is 20.5 million BGN with 32 beneficiaries as local authorities and nine small and medium enterprises.
The main purpose of the Program is replacement of existing and / or construction of highly efficient heating systems in municipal and state buildings which using conventional fuels or renewable sources. Priority buildings are those of social importance such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. Moreover, priority projects are those which havebeen developed in cooperation with partners from countries donors.
Dobrich Municipality is one of the first candidates submitted its project proposal for the renovation of heating systems in two municipal buildings - Kindergarten No.10 and the Municipal Social Complex. Integral part of the project proposal on heating systems in both buildings has been developed the technical projects, according to the Law on Spatial Planning, as well as the energy efficiency audits, according to the Energy Efficiency Act and its regulations.
Kindergarten No.10 “Slantchitze” and the social services complex will have new heating systems which will be provided under the project of Dobrich Municipality, implemented by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2009-2014. The total project cost is BGN 415,000 - a 100% grant. Partner of Dobrich Municipality in the project implementation is Norsk Energy - Oslo, Norway – an organization with 100 years of experience participating in expert exchange, advisory services and training.
With the implementation of the project, Dobrich Municipality aims to increase the comfort of living in both municipal buildings, to reduce the costs and municipal bills for heating and electricity and to reduce the emission of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
